The Dog Stop & TDRI - Mississauga Event

Here's a big thank you to everyone who participated on Sunday in our event at The Dog Stop in Mississauga:

Thank You to Arlene and The Dog Stop staff for making this happen!!

Amongst the happy dogs, cameras flashing and raffle tickets, was our wonderful bake sale. Thanks to everyone who donated baked goods for it. We have some very culinary inclined volunteers, very talented in making treats for us and for our furry pals.

Another thank you goes out to Gizmo's foster mom Shannon for helping set up the event and for baking the awesome puppy themed cupcakes!

We had Chico, Bernie and Sox visit us, who are now permanently part of loving families, and Sophie who is having the time of her life with her foster parents.  It was great seeing all smiles all around.

Here we have foster-mom Melissa and one of our Mexican rescues Sox. She is a happy dog who loves cuddles and her brother Oscar and sister Peanut. She has progressed so much since she got to Canada. Playing with the cats of the house and socializing is now part of her regular schedule. She loves going for car rides and walks with her brother Oscar.

BFFs [Happy 1st Birthday Sadie! & Speedy recovery to Boston! ]

These two lovable pups came to us around the same time a few weeks back.

Boston, a 2 year old golden lab, is sporting a cute cone for the next week or so, as he just came out of surgery. He had his extra toe removed. He is an energetic and lovable pup, and still clumsily getting used to his cone. He is a dominant dog who loves to play, with his foster parents, foster sisters and brothers of the canine and feline variety too.

Have a speedy recovery Boston!

And here is a message for Sadie, or  Sadie-Padie as her foster family likes to call her:

Her foster parents, auntie and uncle would like to wish Sadie a Happy 1st Birthday this week!

She is a cuddly beagle who will not miss an opportunity to snuggle . She asks for hugs and loving, much like a toddler would. Speaking of childish games, she loves playing Peek-a-Boo with her auntie, and properly waits for the "I-see-you" part of the game to dispense some kisses. Sadie is quite the playful one, indoors and outdoors. She loves her foster brothers and sister. Despite the fact that Sadie just discovered kitties for the first time in her life, she fell in love with the 6 month old kitten named Flash! Even though she weighs less than 20 lbs, she likes to nap in the middle of a king size bed, but not before she sneaks into every dog bed in the house.
